He was born August 14, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Albert and Grace Putnam Wise. He was also predeceased by a brother, Major George W. Wise, U.S. Army Retired.
Mr. Wise loyally served in the U.S. Army for more than 21 years and retired with rank of Sergeant First Class. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a paratrooper and made over 1,300 jumps. He later worked at the Kennedy Space Center on the Shuttle Program for 13 years with USBI and Thiokol. He was very proud of his work on the shuttle including the first launch in 1981.
Mr. Wise is survived by a sister, Beverly McFadden of Ocala, FL; five sons, Jeffrey A. Wise (Lynelle) of Roseville, CA, Albert E. Wise, Jr. (Sandy) of Phoenix, Arizona, David Wise (Penny) of San Diego, CA, Timothy M. Solovikos (Kim) of Cocoa Beach, FL, Scott W. Wise (Alison) of Merritt Island, FL; and a daughter, Colleen M. Lavender (Larry) of Cartersville, GA. Mr. Wise is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, North Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, FL from 3:00-5:00PM on Sunday, July 31, 2011 with a Memorial Service at 4:00PM.
Interment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
