While still in High School, Sidney was enlisted in the United States Army, he graduated high school in 1951, right after boot camp, where he then served a 2 year tour overseas in Korea ranked as a Corporal and later stationed at Presidio in San Francisco for about 9 months. After his services, Sidney worked at various occupations such as: drywall and Salters Market until he ended up at PG&E until he retired.
Sidney met his wife, Joyce, in June of 1954 at The Church of Christ in Merced, they then married on November 11, 1954. One of his hobbies included wood carving, he was an amazing wood crafter, he carved many figures and pieces for his family. He also enjoyed babysitting for his 2 oldest grandsons: Jacob and Michael.
Sid is preceded in death by his parents; Sidney and Grace Crouch, sisters; Vanoy Sauermilch, Marie O’dahl, Betty Ingersol, brother; Albert Crouch, daughter; Candice Crouch at age of 4, son; Sidney W. Crouch as a newborn.
He is survived by his Wife; Joyce Crouch, sisters; Maejean Cook (Dick) and Frances Clayman (Glen), sister-in-law; Jane Crouch and Jackie Alvarado, son; Nathan (Vicki), grandsons; Jacob (Kirin), Michael and Jarrod Crouch, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Memorial Park located at 1480 B Street Merced, CA 95341.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America at 3801 Miranda Ave Palo Alto, CA 94304.
