Richard was a resident of Fairmead, California for the last 8 years, and previously lived in Sparks, Nevada for 12 years. He worked as a carpenter and mechanic for over 40 years. He was a member of the Union 971 Carpenters of Reno, Nevada and served as a volunteer for the Arroyo Seco Firefighters for several years. Richard was a family man, and enjoyed playing dice, riding Harleys, mudding with his children in La Grange, California, and cheering on his favorite football team, the Denver Broncos.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dean Silva. He is survived by his children, Cody Silva (Laura) of Merced, California, Jeremy Silva (Jade) of Dayton, Nevada, and Savannah Silva of Sparks, Nevada; , Michael Church (Christine) of Reno, Nevada, Bobby Church (Opal) of Eureka, California, and Chase Kennedy (Sandra) of Johnstown, Pennsylvania; mother, Nancy Silva of Fairmead, California; and sister, Tina Equels of San Diego, California. Richard also leaves behind many grandchildren, a great granddaughter , nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Palm Memorial Worden Chapel, 140 South 6th Street Chowchilla, California 93610.
