Patricia Elizabeth Gallagher

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Patricia Elizabeth Gallagher. Pattie was born February 27, 1951, at Mercy Hospital and peacefully died at home surrounded by family on September 5, 2021.

Pattie began her working career at Stefani’s Menswear in Merced. While living in the Bay Area, she was the Manager of Grodin’s Menswear in Berkeley CA and at Pepsi Cola Distributor in San Francisco, where she met Art D. Shaw. She also had a long career working for Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), eventually retiring and returning to Merced to be close to her family and friends.

Artie became a faithful friend and loving companion; they spent many years together. He took exceptionally good care of her to the end.

Pattie was proceeded in death by her parents, James and Marjorie Gallagher, grandparents, Charles and Margaret Sloat and James and Elizabeth Gallagher.

She is survived by her brothers Michael Gallagher (Judy) and of Glendale AZ, Dan Gallagher of Merced and nephews Daniel Gallagher and Patrick Gallagher of Merced, numerous cousins and close friends.

Catholic rosary will be held at 9:30 followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 on Friday September 17, at Our Lady Mercy Church on 21st & Canal in Merced. Following the services, there will be a celebration of life ceremony at the Branding Iron Restaurant located at 640 W 16th Street.
