Growing up, Alex attended Sheehy, Gracey, and Charles Wright Elementary schools, and also attended, Rivera Junior High School and Golden Valley High School. During his high school years, Alex played football, a life long passion of his and after high school ended, he played for the Merced College Blue Devils.
Alex was an avid sports authority on all things NFL and NBA, and was a sports historian in his own right.
You could also count on Alex to get emotional over any subject regarding sports and he was always ready prove his knowledge on any subject that came up regarding the Dallas Cowboys or the Chicago Bulls.
Alex enjoyed fantasy football, attending the Dallas Cowboys training camp in Ventura, CA., raising his kids as a single parent, dressing them up in the latest fashions, and putting them on display; he loved his kids.
Alex also enjoyed spending time with family, dancing, and eating his brother Anthony's cooking. Of all the great memories Alex made in life, one of the most notable moments was his Shakespeare like romantic relationship with his "Suga" Stephanie Nelson, who preceded him in death on July 13, 2023. Alex and Stephanie called themselves the Bonnie and Clyde duo, because, whatever one was down for, the other was sure to back it up.
Alex and Stephanie, with their children in tote, embarked on several family adventures that could be seen all over their social media pages; from theme park trips to visiting places in their favorite movies, to include Dodgers and Giants baseball games, and even seeing the Raiders play football because, his Suga was a Raiders fan. Whatever they did, they did it together, as a family.
On January 2, 2024 in early morning, Stephanie came back and knocked on the door, and while we could not make Alex stay; he took his Suga by the hand and together, they walked into the eternal presence of God.
Alex leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Nikki Robinson, Julian Martinez, Jamari Elsfelder, and Aryelle Hinesley; all of Merced, CA; Mother, Bobbie Mcgee of Merced, CA; brothers, Anthony Anderson SR, Deron Barnes, and Issac Halliman of Merced, CA; Sidney Givens of Walnut Creek,CA; sisters, Latoya Halliman of Portland, OR; and Bridgette Morris of Las Vegas, NV., a host of Aunts, Uncle's, neices, Nephews, Cousins, and friends.
