February 18, 1921-April 19, 2012
Doris Irene Denno, 91, of Merced, died on April 19, 2012.
Doris was born to the late George and Demerise Perry, February 18, 1921, in Concord, New Hampshire. She lived briefly in Detroit, Michigan before her family settled permanently in Mooers, N.Y. She married the late Maurice John Denno in 1938. They lived in Mooers, N.Y. until they moved to Merced in 1952. In 1962, they returned to New York state where they remained until Maurice died in 1976. Doris relocated to Merced in 1980.
Doris had an immense passion for words and wrote many memorable stories and poems during her lifetime. Her greatest passion, however, was her family. Doris’s bountiful love for all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren continues to be our most priceless gift. No tribute can be more eloquent and no legacy more treasured than the profound and durable love her family has for her and for each other.
Doris was pre-deceased by her husband, her parents, her brother-Robert Perry (Betty)-and her son, Michael E. Denno (Terry).
Doris is survived by seven children, Adrian Denno (Lani), Judy Burr (Tom), Jeff Denno (Betty), Wayne Denno, Dale Denno (Diane Dahlke-Denno), Jerome Denno (Beverly Brown), and Nancy Denault-Weiss (Joe Weiss). She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Holy Mass will be said at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 671 E. Yosemite Ave on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 10:00 A.M followed with a memorial gathering at De Angelo’s Restaurant, 2000 E. Childs Ave.
To honor Doris’s life, it is our simple wish that you love your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren-all of your family-every day with all your heart.
