Buford was born to Buford and Dixie Armstrong in Savannah, Oklahoma on June 22, 1938. After graduation, Buford enlisted in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge when he retired after twenty years of service. After his military career, Buford started working in retail sales and owned his own business for 20 years.
Buford was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Dixie Armstrong; and brothers, Richard and Wendell Armstrong.
He is survived by his wife, Charmaine Armstrong; son, Eric Armstrong and wife Jana; daughter, Cheryl Ramirez; and grandchildren, Alyssa Ramirez, Alison Ramirez, Thomas Armstrong, and Tiago Armstrong.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
