Ronald Robert Harrison

On September 22nd, 2024, Ronald Robert Harrison, 60, of Menifee, passed away after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife, four children, two sisters, and his mother. Gary Ronald Harrison and Unita Fern Watson welcomed Ron into the world on November 5th, 1963, in Riverside, CA. Ronald married the love of his life, MaryBeth on August 25th, 1995. He was a sixth-generation Californian and a resident of Quail Valley and Menifee for 60 years, attending Menifee Elementary and Perris High School. Ron was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Salena Marie Harrison, and his father, Gary Ronald Harrison. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, MaryBeth Harrison; sons Corey Evan and Shaun Andre; daughters Mollyrose and Heidi Joy; and seven grandchildren; Zoe-Jane, Lillian Marie, Delilah Lynn, Layla Rose, Liam Robert, Lena Louise, and Callie Joy.

Much like his dad, Ron Harrison had a passion for many hobbies. He started off playing Little League baseball, coached by his dad, which sparked his love for the sport. Once he had his first son, Corey, he couldn’t wait to get him on the field and coach him, eventually becoming umpire in chief. His hobbies often changed, leading to a life full of abundance. He team-roped with his dad, drove bulldozers for CDF to fight fires and create fire lines, and developed a need for speed after learning how to work on motors. In 1977, he began racing motorcycles in Southern California, which led to the crash that broke his back—a story we’ve all heard. Ron had a passion for all things that go fast, from drag racing and motocross to boating in Havasu and riding dune buggies in Glamis. He was a jack of all trades, loving scuba diving while living in Carlsbad, golf, bowling and even received a 300 ring for a perfect game. He enjoyed fishing and shooting guns. All his motor dreams came true in 2019 when he bought his 1970 Nova and started drag racing at Barona Speedway.

Behind the silverback gorilla was a teddy bear. Full of compassion, Ron would give the shirt off his back to help those in need. When his son went into the Army, he started a toy drive at work for Christmas. Since then, his company has continued the Christmas tradition and partnered with Toys for Tots at every company Christmas party. When his brother-in-law had a sudden stroke at 39, he gathered the bowling alley for a fundraiser to raise money for him. For the fundraiser, Ron learned to make beef jerky, and those who have had it know he perfected the recipe. He was a very selfless man who would put everything aside to help anyone in need. His loyalty, love, and pure devotion to his family and friends will be everlasting.

A celebration of life will be held on October 9th, 2024 at Monteleone Meadows in French Valley. The celebration will be from 5 pm to 9:30 pm. The minister will speak at 5:30 and from there will be an open mic to hear all stories.
