William Gracey Harvey

William Gracey Harvey, 95, of Covington, TN, passed away September 6, 2015, at the Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis. The family will gather to receive friends on Friday, September 11, beginning at 9:00 a.m., until services begin at 10:00 a.m., at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Avenue Chapel. Interment will be held in the R. H. Munford Cemetery in Covington at 12:00 noon. Born on March 25, 1920 in Covington, “Uncle Bill” graduated from Byars-Hall High School in 1938 and was the co-owner of Harvey and Sons Cotton Gin. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Bill enjoyed traveling, playing dominos, and watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth Harvey; and four siblings, Wilson Harvey, George Harvey, Elizabeth Harvey Noell, and John Harvey. Mr. Harvey is survived by five nieces, Jane Snyder, Leslie Ann Grimes, Betsy Gardner, Barbara Jo Lee, and Peggie Lewter; his nephew, John L.
