The son of Annie and Leroy Cunningham, Jack was born on July 15th, 1934 in Luxora, Arkansas. After graduating from West Memphis High School Jack enlisted in the US Marine Corp. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. His many medals include The Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, RVN Campaign & Service Medal, RVN Cross of Gallantry w/Palm Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Throughout his travels Jack met many lifelong friends and always had many interesting stories about his adventures.
After Jack retired from the military, he enjoyed creating beautiful art in the form of stained glass, wood working, and carpentry that will be cherished by his family and friends for years to come.
Jack was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Ruth, and his son John. He is survived by his son Jack, Jr., daughter Joanna (Roy), as well as, two grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
The committal ceremony will be Friday, February 24th at 2pm at West TN Veterans Cemetery.
