Wallace "Wally" Wilcox

Wallace (Wally) Wilcox, of Collierville, Tennessee, earned his wings and departed this world into the hands of Jesus after a long battle of heart problems and dementia. He was 73 years of age. Wally was born on April 19, 1949, to his mother and father, Anna VanSoest Wilcox and Robert Wilcox, in Munford, Tennessee. He was the youngest of six children. His childhood years were not the easiest as his mother died when Wally was only nine years of age. After spending two years or so in foster care, Wall eventually lived with his aunt and uncle, Verna and George Nail, completing high school at Kingsbury High. Wally then joined the Air Force achieving the rank or Sargeant. In 1974, Wally met his wife, Donna. After a short courtship of six months, they married on July 20, 1974. God gave them 48 wonderful years and two beautiful daughters, Brandy Lynn and Natalie Renee. In 1980, Wally's career life led him to Allen & O'Hara and then to EDR (Education Realty Trust), where he started as a maintenance supervisor. He climbed the ladder ultimately becoming Senior Vice President of Construction which took him all over the United States completing 102 projects and over $2 billion in cost. He loved his work! His company was also family to him. He retired in 2016.

Wally leaves the family that was his world, wife, Donna M. Wilcox; daughters, Brandy Lynn Morasch (Wesley) and Natalie Renee Gann (Jason); granddaughters, Shelby R. Davis (Nick), Colby Lynn Morasch, and Gracie Renee Gann; grandson, Wesley Cooper Morasch; and his great granddaughter, Piper Marlene Davis. Also leaving his brother, Elton B. Wilcox (Beth) and sister, Bonnie Sowell. Wally was predeceased by his father and mother; brother, Delton L. Wilcox; Olivia Joyce Wilcox; Robert M. Wilcox; and uncle and aunt, George and Verna Nail. This was Wally's World!!!

A visitation for Wally will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hope Presbyterian Church, 8500 Walnut Grove Rd., Cordova, TN 38018, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
