Virginia “Ginny” Nichols, 101 of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Mrs. Nichols was a native of St. Louis, Missouri and an avid Cardinals fan from the age of 5. She served in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune during World War II (1943-1945). She was a long time member of Church of the Holy Communion. Ginny loved spending time with her family and watching baseball. In her earlier years, she was a member of Home Demonstration Club and she and her husband, Nat, were members of the Good Sams Club.
Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, George Nathaniel “Nat” Nichols; her parents, Oscar Ray Campbell and Clara Campbell and a brother, Jack Campbell.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet N. Ferguson; granddaughter, Julie Huckaby (Eric); grandson Charles “Chuck” Ray Ferguson (Katherine); two great grandsons, Nathan Huckaby (Hope) and William Huckaby, and a great-great grandson, Graham Huckaby.
The family will receive friends on Friday January 26, 2024 beginning at 1 p.m. with funeral services to be held at 2 p.m.; all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Interment will immediately follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors by the United States Marine Corps.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mrs. Nichols may be offered to the American Heart Association or to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital
