Thomas Michael Munley

The Angel's came quietly in the early morning hours of June, 24, 2016 to take Thomas Michael Munley, 73, of Collierville, TN to his new home in Heaven. Thomas passed peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his immediate and extended family. He had fought many serious end stage health issues for over a year and a half. Tom was born in Louisville, KY. on November 22, 1942. He was the eldest of five children born to Alice Marie and Thomas 0 Munley. He served in the United States Air Force for four years, and retired an Air Route Traffic Controller for the Aviation Administration; working in Oberlin, Ohio and Memphis Tn. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, cooking, and fishing. He also loved just sitting around telling stories of life events. His favorite movies were "The Godfather and Top Gun", his favorite music was "Willie Nelson" and his favorite holiday was "Thanksgiving". He was a proud loyal member of AA for 21 years. Thomas Michael Munley was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas 0 Munley and Alice Marie Simpson Munley; and one brother and best friend, William (Billy) Munley. Thomas Michael Munley is survived by his three daughters, Vanessa R Munley, of Collierville, TN, Stephanie Munley-Howell and her children - Noel, Hannah, Andrew, Ethan - all of Atoka, TN, Melissa (Zachary Smith) Munley of Germantown, TN, two sons; Thomas (Christie) Munley and their children - Lacy and Kylie - all of Collierville, TN and Michael P Munley of Collierville, TN. Tom is also survived by his extended family whom he lived with for the last 19 years, Robert (Tammie) White and their children - Amber Smith and Megan White - all of Collierville, TN. He is also survived by his fur family members, Benji, Bear, Prissy, Little Dude, and Shotsie all of whom he loved very much. Thomas Michael Munley is also survived by one brother, Patrick (Sue) Munley of Benton, KY, and two sisters, Donna (Charles) Weibel of Springfield, Ohio, and Barbara Cowles; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Private Graveside funeral services will be at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Private Family Memorial Service will be held at Thomas Michael Munley's home in Collierville, TN. Family Funeral Care Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
