Peggy Jean Massey of Bartlett, TN, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the age of 88. Peggy was born in Holladay, TN, on March 4, 1934. She is predeceased by her parents, Pat and Bess McAuley, stepmother, Rubel McAuley, brother, Robert McAuley and nephew David Fronabarger.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, James “Jack” Massey; daughter, Jean Wilson; granddaughter, Linden Wilson; sister Dorothy Fronabarger; and nephew, Carl A. Fronabarger.
Peggy worked as a hairdresser and owned a beauty salon in Memphis for several years. She and James were very active at their church, Berclair Church of Christ.
Peggy enjoyed the outdoors and always loved planting beautiful flowers and keeping the neighborhood birds well fed. She and James spent many happy days camping with friends and traveling around the country in their RV. Her favorite pastimes included fishing, crafting, and cooking. Peggy was a truly wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was well-known for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and love for life. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11:00am at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery and Funeral Home in Millington, TN.
