Mildred Houser was born November 19, 1925, and Friday afternoon, May 22, 2020, at 6:15 P.M. she went to be with her Lord.
A life-long Memphian, Mildred grew up in the midtown area, graduated from Tech High School in 1944, and was a member of Park Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Later in life she joined her son, Greg, in membership at First Baptist Church, Poplar and Parkway.
Mildred spent much of her career at Union Planters National Bank, located downtown at Madison and Front, working in the Proof Transit Department. Leaving there she was employed by IRS.
An only child, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, C. W. and Hester Lane Sutton. Also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Benjamin Houser, Jr., she raised her son, Richard Gregory Houser, as a single parent.
Mildred's service will be Wednesday, May 27, 11:00 A.M. at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue. Ms. Kris Azlin will officiate. Please join us as we celebrate Mildred's life.
