Mary Elizabeth Scroggin Huddleston, 94, of Germantown, TN (formerly of
North Little Rock, AR) went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 17,
2011. She was born in Solgohachia, AR, October 11, 1917, to Carlena Vann
and John Andrew Scroggin. She was the youngest of seven and preceded in
death by her parents and her siblings.
Mary and Maurice Milton Huddleston were married on Thanksgiving Day,
November 28, 1935. They resided in North Little Rock, AR for most of
their married life where they were active members of Gardner Memorial
United Methodist Church and later First United Methodist Church in North
Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years
in 2001.
Known by her many friends and family members to be a devoted wife and
mother, Mary was also an avid bridge player and a wonderful cook.
Mary leaves behind her daughter, Judy Adkins and her husband, Lynn, of
Germantown and her son, Dick Huddleston and JoAnn Fletcher of
Madisonville, LA. She also leaves her granddaughter, Beth Skudder and her
husband, David of Eads, TN; grandsons, Brad Adkins and his wife, Carol, of
Jackson, TN; and Matt Huddleston and his wife, Missy, of Abita Springs,
LA and nine great-grandchildren, Will, Mary Margaret and Maddie Skudder;
Conner, Jonathan, Catherine and Jacob Adkins; and Dillon and Emma
Huddleston.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 19, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Germantown
Plantation, 9293 Poplar Avenue, where Mary was a long-time resident.
Graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, AR,
on Thursday, October 20, 2:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Baptist Trinity Hospice House, 1520 W. Poplar,
Collierville, TN; The American Cancer Society; or the charity of your
choice.
