Marie Brown Davis, age 91, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022. She was born October 31, 1931 in Marshall County, Mississippi to Belton Floyd Brown and Bernice Ellis Brown. She graduated from Abbeville High School. After a brief career in the retail donut business (Harlow's), she later retired from Southwest Tennessee Community College (State Tech). Marie loved flowers, gardening, and all God's creatures. She was a talented home cook. She was a very generous person.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Dean Allison and Guy Russell Davis, Sr.; her parents; and two siblings, Cynthia Crutchfield and Gene Brown. Marie is survived by her children, Janice Rowell (Barney), Mike Allison (Terri), and Guy Davis Jr. (Donna); grandchildren, Tiffany Nance (Steve), Dawn Underwood (Jeff), Kasey Griggs (Jesse), Kristen Dixon (Chris), Ashley Finn (David), and Brian Davis (Heather); and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday, December 16 from 12:00 until 1:00 PM, at Park Avenue Church of Christ, 5295 Park Avenue, Memphis, TN. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, at the church. Graveside committal service will immediately follow at Abbeville Cemetery, County Road 201, Abbeville, MS.
