Kathy Sayle Clark was born on February 2, 1948 to loving parents Edward Barnes Sayle and Martha Cochran Sayle in Memphis, Tennessee. She is survived by her 2 siblings, Linda Karen Whittington and Edward Barnes Sayle, Jr, who have always cared for and looked out for their older sister. After battling recent health issues, Kathy left us and joined our Lord on June 18, 2022 at Baptist East hospital, where she was surrounded by loving members of her family.
After graduating Treadwell High in 1966, Kathy married Gerald “Bud” Clark and moved to Olive Branch, Mississippi to be a homemaker and mother to her 3 children: Brett Miller Clark, Holly Clark Brewer and Christopher Eugene Clark. Later, she had a son-in-law, Kenneth Moore, and daughter-in-law, Melissa Clark. She also was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Colby Sappington, Lane Brewer, Dalton Clark, Griffin Clark and Lyla Clark and 1 great grandchild, Ever Sappington.
Kathy had such a bubbly personality and infectious laugh and sense of humor that truly touched those around her. Whether out at a bowling league or family or church gathering, she loved being around others and never met a stranger. As a salesperson for over 12 years at Wang’s International, she made life-long friends and really enjoyed her job. Her customers and coworkers all saw Kathy’s zest for connection and care for others. In her later years, she especially cherished contact with her family and close friends. The daily and weekly calls and visits with her kids, her mother, sister and brother truly showed the love and closeness she held with them. Mom (Mammaw) would call nightly to check on her; everyone else had frequent touchpoints to also check in and discuss updates on their families, pets or latest jobs. Her Christian faith guided her throughout her life and until the end.
Thank you for remembering Kathy and her family as we celebrate her wonderful life and all the memories of those she touched along the way. May blessings be upon each and every one of you.
