James Leonard Garthright, III, 67, of Memphis, Tennessee, died April 14, 2012. Mr. Garthright was a retired attorney and longtime member of First Baptist Church of Memphis. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 17 from 5PM – 7PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 5599 Poplar Avenue. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 18 beginning at 2:30PM with Dr. Carol Richardson presiding. The family invites all guests for the graveside service to meet at Memphis Funeral Home and follow the procession to the service. Mr. Garthright is survived by his wife of 41 years, Emily Phelps Garthright; daughter Natalie Garthright Cathey (Brian); son Carson Phelps Garthright (Gwynn); mother Dauphine Mahoney Garthright and granddaughter Gabrielle Ann Cathey all of Memphis, Tennessee.
