My very first basketball hero. When this guy got into a zone on the court, he could shoot the lights out. I pray that God has a special reward for him. I loved his game. I feel that he was an unsung hero. Praying for the family. The city owes this man for the awesome memories that he gave us all. 



James,  your smile was contagious and your personality was awesome.  Whenever you saw me you always called me Little Bit.  How proud we were of Melrose High School Golden Wilcats basketball team when they won the Championship. God chose you to be a part of his kingdom and I'm sure you're forming a basketball team in heaven.  Your memory will live  on in me and all that loves you.  Family we grieve with you but there's assurance that you will see him again.  Rest in peace (SPOOK).

We met you at Glendale Senior Apartments and you quickly became one of our favorites. We loved to see your eyes light up when you spoke about basketball.  We'll always remember your smile and your warm personality.  We'll forever be ShaCole and Darshay, as you would say. RIP Spook.

Thought & Prayers to the Family.  Spook was one of Orange Mound's original  UNKS that paved the way for so many others. Our last few encounters reminded me how much Orange Mound meant. Thank you for your smile & behind Back Board Shots

To the family of James spook Bradley, you have my deepest condolences. I graduated from Melrose In.1976, but I will never forget 1974, when these determined young men gave us a championship and made us proud, Melrose was gifted with some extraordinary young men and women
 I still have news papers clippings of those games,.it was so exciting. Spook you will never be forgotten, may God give you rest.

My thoughts and prayers goes out to the entire family. Spook and I had a chance to talk before and after his number was retired Feb, 13  which he so deeply deserved, long overdue, had no weakness in his game, complete ball player.  After getting the news he was sick I rushed to the hopsital to see him a couple days before he passed in which I was truly saddened  but it also brought me great comfort, rest in peace Big Fella.

Most people know him as Big Spook, but we who really knew him, he was Big Wooh!!!!!! I loved sitting around and talking with him about the good old days. It was players like Spook that made me tough. I was born with a handicap, however it never hindered me and my desire to be the best basketball I could be. Larry Finch and Spook were two of my biggest  heroes. I had the honor to not only watch and be encouraged by them, but to nurtured by both of these Orange Mound GREATS., and, I’m better for knowing Larry and James. May you memories live on through the stories of your greatness that we share with others. Earl Yarbrough
