Not many people hear God's voice audibly, but Gerald did when God pointed out the girl he was to marry. Shortly after they wed, he served two years abroad in the armed forces. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, and story-telling. He was a father-figure to many outside his own five children. He was very engaged with those five children, rarely missing a ball game and supporting their varied interests. Most importantly, Gerald was driven by God-given love to raise a family to love The Lord God with all their heart, soul, strength and might; and to sing for The Lord with his beautiful tenor voice.
Gerald was a former long-time member of Leaclair Baptist Church and a current member of Ellendale Baptist Church. He retired from Plough Inc., being recognized for 30 years of service.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Hollis and Harold Lee. His surviving siblings are Yorel (Jimmie) Sneed of Memphis, Rendell (Frankie) Sneed of Thaxton, MS, J.M. (Jo) Sneed of Oxford, MS, and Mary (John) Burks of Potts Camp, MS. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Billie Patterson Sneed and children: Lannece (David) Mayo, Allan (Pam) Sneed, Norman (Vickie) Sneed, Lori (Bobby) Morgan, and Ladotta (Bobby) Dunn. Grandchildren: Joseph (Nicole), Lauren (Jay), Adrienne (Jon), Jill, Benjamin (Bridget), Aaron, Brent (Whitney), Dana, Neil (Rebecca), Lydia, Andrew, Kelsey, Kyle, Brittany, Keith, Samuel, Alayne, Allison, Olevia, Hannah, Gerald and Samantha, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held This evening, July 22, 2014 from 6-8pm and the funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 23, 2014, all at Ellendale Baptist Church.
