Georgeanne Lowe McIllwain

Georgeanne Lowe McIllwain, of Collierville & Memphis, Tennessee, died in the late evening hours of July 30, 2016. Anne was 85 years old. Born on December 30,1930 i n Joiner, Arkansas, Georgeanne was one of four daughters born to the late Frank & Lillian Lowe. She was a graduate of Humes High School Class of 1948; Graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing and longtime member of the White Station Church of Christ. Anne, affectionately known as 'Miss Mac' retired from Methodist Hospital as a nurse manager where she had received many accolades for her career. She was nominated for a position on the Board of the American Nurses Association; in 1996 was vote done of the Eleven Excellent Nurses of Memphis & Shelby County; and in 1997 was awarded an honorary Residency in Pharmacy by the Methodist Hospital. Her daughters cordially invite all who can attend to a gathering on Tuesday, the 2nd of August from five o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. A funeral service celebrating her life will be on Wednesday, the 3rd of August beginning at two o’clock in the afternoon at White Station Church of Christ, 1106 Colonial Road, Memphis, T N 38117. Burial will follow in the Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery on RaleighLagrange Road. Including her parents, Georgeanne was also preceded in death by her sisters Edith Martin & Eva Hall; and husband Benard Wood McIllwain. She is survived by her daughters Toni (Bill) Bargagliotti of Memphis, Barbie (Donny) Hodge of Collierville and Marty McIllwain of Collierville grandchildren Ashley (Rudy) Kink, Craig (Laurie) Hodge, and Ben (Mary) Bargagliotti; her two greatgranddaughters who were the light of her life Josie Anne & Lauren Kink; sister Lynda Brown of Augusta, GA; and her devoted care giver over the last few years Cora Carter.
