Eleanor married Charles Edward Scott on November 7, 1959 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Both met as students at Memphis Academy of Art and Charles graduated in 1960. They had one daughter, Keitha Lorene Scott.
Eleanor was then hired by Memphis Jewish Community Center as director for their fine arts department. She worked there for twelve years. During this time, she also taught art classes at a local Montessori school.
She later accepted the director position for Redeemer Lutheran Children’s Learning Center. She was director for seventeen years until its closing and continued to stay in touch with the parents and children over the years.
Although she was retired, she still taught private art classes for children and also taught summer art classes for children at the Memphis College of Art.
