Earl W. Sain, 93, of Collierville passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, June 22nd, with congestive heart failure. He leaves his faithful wife of 68 years, Glyn Sain and his children David Sain and Michelle Ford, both of Memphis. Earl was the eldest of nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter W. Sain of Macon, TN. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Gene Sain (Germantown), James B. Sain (Eads, TN), J.W. Sain (Red Banks, MS) and two sisters: Dorothy Childs (Paducah, KY), and Ruby Newberry (Parkersburg, W.VA). He is survived by one brother Richard Sain (Henderson, TN) and two sisters, Valeria Sprout (Parkersburg, W.VA) and Patricia King (Cordova, TN). Earl enjoyed and was greatly loved by his five grandchildren, Melissa, Melanie, Russ, Jonathan, and Lauren, and his 8 great-grandchildren. Earl proudly served his country in WWII as a medic, returned to Memphis and worked for 35 years as an electrician at the V.A. Hospital. He served as an elder at Berclair Church of Christ for 35 years. He helped found and often preached for the church in Oakland, TN. Dad set the standard of Christian living for his family. His remarkably consistent and constant example of faithful service to God will live on long after his earthly passing. Visitation will be Sunday, June 26th from 2-5 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar. Funeral services will be Monday, June 27th at 10 a.m. at the Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar, followed by a private family burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
