David Deckert Ousset Jr.

David Deckert Ousset, Jr. of Memphis, TN died Monday, December 9th, 2024 at the age of 77. He was born May 25, 1947 in San Antonio, TX to David and Esther (nee Pengilly) Ousset, who both predeceased him. He is survived by his husband John Palmer, daughter Elizabeth Taplin (John), son David Christian Ousset (Elise), granddaughters Mary Abigail Ousset, Emily Ousset, Jana JulieBeth Sprecher and grandson Jack Ousset.

Dave worked at FedEx for 26 years, primarily in Customer Support. He assisted the company as it struggled to become the household name it is today. Dave captured the vision FedEx had to be a global delivery service and received numerous awards in doing so. His troubleshooting skills made him a go-to employee for problem solving.

After retirement, Dave worked for the nonprofit agency Partners for the Homeless, managing budgets and resources to distribute funds for various agencies. His administrative skills earned him admiration from coworkers and board members alike.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 14 at Calvary Episcopal Church, 102 North Second Street, Memphis, TN 38103. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM in the Atrium to be followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM in the Church. There will be a reception afterwards.
