Daniel Davis McCarver, age 74, beloved husband of Carla Jo McCarver, passed away on Friday afternoon, February 25, 2022. Born to Grover Edward McCarver and Alice Phelan McCarver on October 15, 1947 in Memphis, Tennessee. Dan graduated from Christian Brothers High School and attended Memphis State University. He joined the U.S. Navy and was discharged from the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy (CVA67) and continued his service with the U.S. Naval Reserves. He later retired from William Sonoma in 2012.
Dan loved to cook and was an avid reader of anything on the Civil War, World War I, and World War II. He always enjoyed playing the games chess and bridge. Dan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carla Jo Mohr McCarver. He is also survived by his bother Tim McCarver; his sisters-in-law, Sharon Brawner (Jim) and Suzanne Waide (James); his sister, Marilyn; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Grover and Pat.

A committal service with military honors, in honor of Dan's life, will be held Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 2:30 PM, at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, TN 38125.
