She attended Douglass High School. She married Charles E. Madden, Sr. on March 30, 1957 and they were married for 65 years. She was a devoted mother of eight children. She often said that her greatest calling was raising her children in the fear and admiration of the Lord. As a result, all eight of her children are saved and are members of Love Temple Ministries.
She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in her early 20’s. She was a faithful member of Bethel Temple COGIC where she was an active member of the choir. In 1993 her husband Elder Charles Madden, Sr. founded Love Temple Ministries COGIC where she served as the 1st Lady and the church secretary for 26 years. She had a love for helping those who were in need, so she started the Helping Hands Ministry that provided food and clothing for them. She also started a Prayer Chain ministry that encouraged the members to pray for one another. When her husband retired, her son, Elder Darrell Madden became her pastor.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Elder Charles Madden, Sr., three daughters, Angela Erewelle, Pamela Madden, Patricia Davis (Chris); Four sons, Charles Madden, Jr. (Neddies), Gerald Madden (Gerita), Darrell Madden (Mary), David Madden (Tanya). Preceding her in death, her son Kenneth Madden (Lisa), fifteen grandchildren, one granddaughter preceding her in death and nine great grandchildren.
