Chi Keung Fong was born in Kaiping, a Province of China, on April 1, 1939. He succumbed to cancer on Friday, July 8th, 2016. He died at Germantown Methodist Hospital in Germantwon, TN, surrounded by his loving wife and three children. He was a wonderful husband to wife, Kit Ling, and a loving father to Yuen Yee (Anna) and husband Preston, Leung Kui (Ben) and wife Susan, and Yuen Shan (Sandy) and husband Anthony, and a gentle grandfather to Jenny, Baren, Aren, Ean, and Skyler. He married his wife, Kit Ling, in 1968 in Hong Kong. He owned a small shoe factory and worked there till he immigrated to America in 1972. Chi Keung chose to use the English name, Peter, once in America. He worked as a chef in a Chinese restaurant located in Boston, MA, until his family immigrated to the US in 1976. Together with his wife, he started a business, Fong’s Garment Factory, in the downtown area of Los Angeles, California, in 1979. They operated the factory until 1983. At that time, Chi moved his family to Sayre, OK to open up the Stardust Restaurant, and then to Weatherford, OK, where they owned Weatherford’s first Chinese Restaurant, Young China Restaurant. He cooked many wonderful meals for his patrons until he retired in 2002. During his retirement, he traveled to many different places throughout the USA and abroad, mainly China and Hong Kong, and tours through Italy, Holland, and England. His favorite were Hawaii and Alaska. He lived a wonderful life and enjoyed his retirement years watching his grandchildren grow.
