Celia Lopez Griffin, 87, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Dove Health and Rehabilitation of Collierville, after a short illness. She is preceded in death by her parents Ms. Evanna Sanders Hamby and Mr. W.O. Hamby, four brothers, and one sister. Ms. Griffin is survived by her husband, Mr. Henry V. Griffin, Jr.; her three sisters, Mrs. Juanita Carpenter of Collierville; Ms. Carol Kurts of Horn Lake; Mrs. Charlotte Leach of Horn Lake; and her brother Paul Hamby of Mt. Home, AR. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 5 - 8 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens Poplar Chapel. Funeral Services will be at Memphis Funeral Home Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. A private interment will be at Memphis Memory Gardens. The family requests that memorials be sent to either the American Heart Association or the Kidney Foundation.
