If you’re reading this, I have transcended from earth to my heavenly home, and this is my Diary of Life.
I departed this earthly life on the early morning of July 27, 2020, and went to my eternal home to be with my Heavenly Father to begin my eternal life in paradise. I don’t live here anymore. You can now find me on Hallelujah Avenue, in The New Jerusalem. My body was just a temporary vessel to carry my soul, and my soul shall live forever!! And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I saw the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Revelation 21:1-2
I was born for my Godly purpose to the late Simon Surine Young and the late Bertha Mae (Mayes) Young in Memphis, Tennessee, on August 4, 1952. I was the oldest child of nine children.
The purpose and meaning of my life were as a servant for Jesus Christ. I lived that purpose from a very early age. As a Child of God, I worked diligently and faithfully to take what God had purposed for my life, to glorify His life. I was ordained in 2005 as a Minister. In 2009, I co-pastored Doors of Hope in Jesus Christ Church with my husband, Pastor Curtis Hare. In 2019 I was called to a higher calling and was ordained as an Apostle and became a member of Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church.
Both of my parents preceded me in death, along with two daughters, Carol Juanita Holmes and Cotina Renae Holmes; a son, John Henry Holmes; a sister, Teretha Young Kent; a brother, Waymon Young; also paternal grandparents, Amos Mayes and Lillie Mayes.
I leave to cherish my memory and carry on my legacy, my most loving and caring husband, Curtis Hare; two sons, Homer Christopher Holmes [Stacey] and Anthony Pierre Williams; six grandsons, Courtlan Young, Christopher Lorenzo Cathright, Damian, Marquez, Cameron, and Deshun Holmes; one great-grandson, Christian Walton Cathright; a brother, Andrew Rico Young [Wendy]; five sisters, Shirley Cole, Cliffie Cherri Hatton [David], Patricia Tamayo [Will], Bertha Gardner, and Gwendolyn Taylor; two aunts, Edna Jeter [William] and Clara Wiggins [Henry]; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and two lifelong friends, Shirley Richardson and Roberta Henderson.
