Carl was born on February 28, 1955, to Lula Mae Johnson and Thomas Matthew in Memphis, TN. After Carl graduated from Northside High School in 1973, he went on to serve in the Air Force.
As a civilian and avid learner, Carl received numerous certifications in electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, computer operating technology specialists, PC hardware technology, and mechanics. Carl went on to use his skillset and talents at American Home Shield before he retired.
Carl married his wife, Vorella, on February 8, 2002.
In 2004, Carl retired and spent time singing, dancing, and sharing memories with his loved ones, Vorella, Andre, and Ahmanees. He loved to teach his electrical and mechanical skills to friends and apprentices. Carl was an avid movie collector and fantasy and Western TV show lover. Carl enjoyed giving.
