Betty J. Turman

Betty Jo Turman, 72, passed away May 27, 2018. A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed watching television, music, watching movies, dining out and talking to her friends. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was retired from the Internal Revenue Service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Turman; her parents, Marks Kelley and Retta Hopper Kelley and a sister Virginia Cartwright.

She is survived by daughters, Tina (Austin) Davis, Tabatha Smothers, and Teresa Stidham; grandchildren,

Austin Davis, Jr., Allen Davis, Justin Smothers, Crystal Stidham, Candace Stidham and Jordan Stidham, and a sister Jerri (Kenny) Odgen.

The family will receive friends on Friday June 1, 2018 from 5-7 P.M. at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 2, 2018 in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home with interment at Arlington Cemetery.
