Audrey Ann Crofoot Weaver, 87, died peacefully August 27, 2022 in Suffolk, VA after a short illness. She was born June 6, 1935 in Auburn, NY and moved to Memphis in 1950. She married Phillip Smith Weaver on July 27, 1954 at St. Lukes United Methodist church in Memphis, TN. Audrey graduated from Messick High School in 1953 and started her long working career immediately after. The last two places she worked were with the Dudley Schaefer family at Schaefer Sash & Door Co. and Grandview Window & Door, Inc. from 1982 until her retirement in 2016 at the age of 80.
Audrey and her husband, Phil, were big fans of the University of Memphis football and basketball teams and attended all of their home games and many out of town games, for more than 50 years. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church until she moved to Suffolk, Virginia in 2019 where she found a new church home with Providence United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edward Tremaine and Luella Crofoot; her husband, Phillip; her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jerry Frame; and her daughter-in-law, Shannon Hearn Weaver. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Lamar Haggard of Ivor, Virginia; her son, David Weaver of Brighton, Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Andy Osborn (Misty), Bradley Weaver (Jennifer), and Lindsay Williams (Jeremy). She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Andrew Osborn, Jr., Jacob Osborn, and Audrey Williams; her only cousin, Rodney Van Housen of Summerfield, Florida; and several nephews and nieces in Alabama.
Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue on Monday, September 5, 2022 from 9-10AM with the funeral service to immediately follow.
