Evie Anita Pennington, age 79, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. She was born June 24, 1944, in Memphis to Fred S. Metts and Onie B. Hataway Metts. Anita graduated from Messick High School. She retired from Dr. William O. Coley's dentistry practice, after working their for more than 20 years. She loved her dogs and very faithful to her Lord and Savior. She was always helpful to anyone in need.
Anita was preceded in death by her late husband, Raymond Pennington; twin sister, Veta King; and brother, Dennis Metts. She is survived by her sister, Fredda Hobgood; son, Steve Norton (Judy); daughter, Angela Wilson (Tommy); grandchildren, Katie, Amber, and John; and a great-grandson, Jude.
The family will receive friends at visitation on Monday, July 24 beginning at 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Faith Baptist Church, Bartlett, Tennessee. Graveside committal service will immediately follow at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Bartlett, Tennessee.
