When Patty Ann was four years old the extended family moved to Richmond, California. This included Andy and Naoma Hood and Dee and Florence Sheneman and grandparents Nellie and Fred Hood. The families lived, loved, and thrived in this family community. One of Patty Ann’s playmates Ralph Conklin would become the love of her life. They knew each other for 78 years and were married for 66 of those years. The couple had three children, Cynthia L. Furrow of Jacksonville, Oregon, Blaine R Conklin (Deb) of Peoria, Arizona, and John Conklin (Deanna) of Reno, Nevada, and Candace Wakeman (the adopted one) of Jacksonville, Oregon. Patt and Ralph were blessed with two grandchildren, Diana Lovan (Shea) of Santa Barbara, California and Bryan Bramlett of Redding, California. One great grandchild blessed their family through Diana and Shea Lovan and Julia is her name.
Patt and Ralph traveled with friends and visited European countries and cruised to many other places. Patt had a love of all things English and was particularly fond of the Queens family and kept up with all the news about them. Patt loved to garden and was known for having the most beautiful flowers and settings around her homes. This loving family moved to various places in California and Nevada and Oregon ultimately settling in Central Point, Oregon (2012) to be near family.
Patt worked throughout her life as a bookkeeper and accountant for banks and private businesses. She loved her work and used her skills to organize her home finances as well. Camping, water skiing and other outdoor activities were a favorite of her family. Patt was known the have her hair perfect and take off on water skis from the beach and return to the shore without a hair out of place.
Lab puppy breeding became a great part of Patt and Ralph’s lives and they dearly loved each and every on of them. They sold pups to loving families all over the world and Patt was still in contact with some of them.
When Patt and Ralph moved to Central Point they became engaged in their Retirement Park community and made great friends. They were also active in Masonic and Shrine functions. Patt was an active member of Bahari, Order of the Eastern Star, and White Nile. She had the most loving friendships with some of her sisters within these groups.
It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to the earthly love from Patt that linked us all, in one way or another.
