Doug endured a difficult last year and is finally free from that pain, he was called home to be with his Heavenly Father and those he loved that preceded him in death; including his best pal and little dog “Ollie”, his father, Edward Jenkins, mother, Joanne Jenkins, grandparents Hoyt Dorsey and Izora Jenkins, brother-in-law Jim Pollock, and many others including the recent passing of his long time neighbor and friend Cole Hardman.
Doug was a man who lived a full life and had many friends and family across the country that can attest to his fun loving nature, incredible work ethic and love of adventure. He was a man of constant action who enjoyed a hard days work and constantly looked for projects or ways he could help his neighbors. He taught his daughter how to use a chainsaw, cut down a tree and wrangled her to participate in the “Doug Olympics” of projects. Doug truly loved dogs, feeding the deer and kids. He never met a stranger and even in his final weeks of life continued to charm those he met even when he was unable to speak.
In his earlier years Doug coached his son’s sports teams and engaged his son Adam and daughter Dallas in as many adventures as he could. They would camp at lake billy chinook, go boating, hunting, motorcycle riding, skiing, rafting, tubing, you name it, they did it and they did it in “Jenkins” style.
Doug did it all and did it all well, he was an Air Force Veteran, Lumber Broker, Painter, EMT, extreme sports enthusiast, coach, (reformed) hunter, fisherman, full time family comedian, Jeep wrangling, sand rail building, wild man!
There are not enough days on this earth for each one of us to share the fond memories and hilarious stories that each one of us has about this incredible, funny, charming friend, brother and father. Doug was a man, so he was imperfect like the rest of us, he had an incredible life but also had immense struggles, but he never stopped fighting. One of the last songs that played before he passed away summarizes his journey here on this earth and is included below. Please say a prayer for Doug and his family as they celebrate his life and legacy and mourn such and incredible loss.
Doug is survived by his daughter Dallas Jenkins-Graven and his son-in-law Tommy Graven, his son Adam Jenkins, daughter-in-law Steffiene Jenkins; grandsons Jorden and Jacob Jenkins, his sister Denise and brother-in-law James (oil check) Osburn, brother David Jenkins, sister-in-law Carla Jenkins, and sister Debbie Jenkins as well as many nieces and nephews and countless, wonderful long time friends, too many to name.
Memorial Service arrangements to be announced soon. Please consider donating to your local animal rescue in honor of Doug or by putting out a little deer block 🩵 😉
Doug skidded up into the next life hollering, “What a ride!”
We will forever love and miss you.
Go Rest High On That Mountain
Vince Gill
I know your life
On earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain
Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son
Oh, how we cried the day you left us
We gathered round your grave to grieve
I wish I could see the angels' faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing
Go rest high on that mountain
'Cause son your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son
Go rest high on that mountain
'Cause son your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son
