Dr. Bruce S. Logan was raised in Spokane, Washington. During his youth, his family traveled frequently to Oregon, and he early on fell in love with the beauty of our great state. When the time came, Southern Oregon seemed a natural place to settle with his family and start an oral surgery practice. His love of the mountains and outdoors, as well as the people of our region, kept him a resident of the Rogue Valley and active member of our medical community for more than 35 years.
After settling in Oregon, Dr. Logan worked with Dr. Joel Slaughter to create the very successful practice of Associates Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Prior to joining the practice, Dr. Logan attended the University of Puget Sound, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree and completed two years of graduate studies in Marine Biology. He then attended Georgetown University School of Dentistry where he was awarded his Doctor of Dental Sciences (D.D.S.) degree, Cum Laude, and was made a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honorary dental fraternity. Following graduation, Dr. Logan spent three years as a resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, with rotations in emergency medicine, general surgery, plastic surgery and otolaryngology.
Dr. Logan served as assistant professor of surgery, division of oral and maxillofacial surgery, University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and held appointments at the University of Cincinnati Hospitals, Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati, and the Cincinnati Veterans Administration Hospital. His local hospital appointment was with Rogue Regional Medical Center, Medford, Oregon.
In 2010, Dr. Logan started the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Center of Oregon.
Dr. Logan has continued to be a pillar of the community helping those in need and quite often at no charge. He loved helping people.
Away from his profession, Dr. Logan enjoyed paragliding, riding his horse Whiskey, camping, fishing, sailing, scuba diving and mostly traveling the world.
Dr. Logan married his wife, Patricia Baird Logan, in 2020 at a beautiful ceremony at the Belle Fiore Winery in Ashland, Oregon.
Dr. Logan was a proud father of four: Amy Christine (Logan) Wright of Gig Harbor, Washington, Jennifer Anne (Logan) Gordon of Stafford, Virginia, Christopher Scott Logan of Grants Pass, Oregon and Alexander Scott Logan of Portland, Oregon. Dr. Logan has 6 wonderful grandchildren. He has a sister, Janet Logan Hegg, of Charlotte, North Carolina and a brother, Arch Paul Logan of Salem, Oregon. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Dr. and Mrs. Arch H. Logan Jr. of Spokane, Washington.
