Violet worked for many years in Coffee and Vending Sales for Gold Cup Coffee and Vending Services of Richmond. While working for Ukrop’s Supermarket she met her husband, Jim, in August 1995 and they have been together ever since. On August 8th, 2000 they were married in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Violet had a love for yard sales with Jim and always was excited when she found a hidden treasure or a good deal. Violet was a spunky woman with a vibrant personality. She never met a stranger and always loved giving gifts. She had a love for all animals and many would visit her in the neighbor to get dog treats while on their walks.
Violet is survived by her husband Jim; three daughters, Jennifer Neal (Joe), Rachel Spain (Jeremy ) and Asheton Bider( Anthony ); grandkids, Ella, Ezra, Emmaus, Lilliana and Conan; siblings, Pansy Spottswood ( Keith ) and Floyd Harvey ( Kim ); and many nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Road in Mechanicsville; where a funeral service will be conducted at 9:45 a.m. Friday, December 3, 2021. Interment service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Road, Hanover, Va.
