Jeannie’s friends and family take comfort in knowing that she has now entered the kingdom of heaven where she will watch over those she loved for eternity.
Jeannie was an active member of Mechanicsville Christian Center where she grew and shared her faith for over forty years. Outside the church, she spent her time caring for others as a registered nurse.
Jeannie was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, cherished sister, and wonderful friend. Jeannie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Catherine Gruebl, and her older sister, Cathay Heflin.
There are so many who have an empty space in their heart today including Jeannie’s son, Richard Barlow Jr and his wife, Jyl Barlow; her grandchildren, Zoe Barlow and Zackary Barlow; her sister, Sandra Thomas; her nephew, Devin Thomas and his wife, Chelsea and their children, Delanie and Kinsley; her nephew, Tony Terry, his children Caitlin and Kayla, his wife, Ashley and their children Aaron, and Randy.
Jeannie’s favorite bible verse was Ephesians 2:8-10, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
A celebration of Jeannie's life will be held at Mechanicsville Christian Center, 8061 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, VA on September 15, 2024 at 3 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring a favorite letter, story, or picture that will be included in her final resting place.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Mechanicsville Christian Center Missions Fund.
