Charles Liebs

Charles Edward Liebs, age 90, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, September 2, 2022. Charles who also was known as “Mickey” by his family and “Charlie” by friends and co-workers was born July 2, 1932 in Richmond, Virginia. He lived in Richmond, Virginia until 1963. He, his wife Peggy, and son, Charles (Sam) then moved to Glen Allen, Virginia. He served in the Vikings Regiment in the Army of the United States from 1953 thru 1954. His rank was Corporal. Charles retired from Hill Electric. He loved working there and the people that worked there. He was also a serious train collector and made regular trips to train shows. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing with his good friend Sonny. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Liebs. Charles and Peggy had a love for not only their son and each other but also for the love of their dogs. He was well loved by his family and friends. Charles is survived by his sister, Dora May “Molly” Hutchins; son, Charles (Sam) Edward Liebs Jr. (Anita); companion, Lottie; Lottie’s son, Tim; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2022, at Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please donate to an animal shelter of your choice.
