 Obituario de Brenda Christine Rahn
Dr. Brenda Christine Rahn, PhD, age 74, of Ashland, Virginia passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Dr. Rahn was preceded in death by her parents, William Christian Rahn and Caroline Perina Rahn, and brother-in-law, John B. Feeney. She is survived by her cherished sister Sheila Rahn Feeney and nephews James Michael Black and Joshua E. Black. She was a teacher for Henrico County Public Schools, a member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, and served in the US Coast Guard Reserve from January 4, 1984, to July 27, 2008, as a Port Security Officer 2nd Class. She received a Reserve Good Conduct medal and Rifleman Sharpshooter Ribbon with “s” Device. Dr. Rahn earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland on June 3rd, 1972, a Master of Science in Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University on March 14, 1980, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Virginia Commonwealth University on December 20, 1997. She enjoyed reading lots of books, attending church, singing in the choir, bowling in Leagues and Tournaments where she became the 1968 Intercollegiate Champion, playing the guitar, and writing music. A funeral service for Brenda will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 9000 St. Martin Lane, Richmond, VA. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery, 1214 Wilmer Ave, Richmond, VA 23227 at 2:15 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ARCBCR, Atlantic Region Central Border Collie Rescue, 12927 Church Court, Henrico, VA 23233, in the memo: In Memory of Brenda Rahn or St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 9000 St. Martin Lane, Richmond, VA 23294
