Linda Lou Adkins, age 81 of Belton, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Lily Springs Nursing Home in Lampasas. Graveside services will be Monday, October 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Post Oak Cemetery in Oglesby. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Cole Funeral Home.
Linda was born August 22, 1943, to Lowell Everett Trent and Lessie Olive (Smith) Trent in Huntington, West Virginia. Linda married Robert Ernest Adkins, and they settled in Oglesby, Texas due to Robert being stationed in the Army at Fort Hood. In Oglesby, they raised their 4 children. Linda worked at Smeads manufacturing until she retired. She enjoyed baking, making ceramics, and sewing. Linda was very artistic and creative. Linda lived in Belton with her youngest son, John and his family for the last 18 years. Linda’s greatest joy in life came from her love of God and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lowell Everett and Lessie Olive Trent, husband, Robert Ernest Adkins, Sr., and her siblings, Lois Luther and Barbara Singer.
Those who remain to honor and cherish her memory are her children, Robert Ernest Adkins, Jr., Deborah Ann, Mark Everett, and John Eric; grandchildren: Jennifer, Chloe, Lessie, Faith, Lauren, Megan, Darian, Makayla, and Derek; great-grandchildren: Kash, Kambreigh, Lila, Lily, Elliott, and Westin.
