Mrs. Blankenship was born April 25, 1960 in London, England to Elwood Vernhausen and Dorothy Jeanne (Smith) Bernhausen. She graduated from Riesel High School and moved to Houston soon after. She attended The University of Texas at Tyler, where she was on the Dean’s Honor List, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She began her teaching career in New Caney, Texas where she taught fifth grade for five years. She met the love of her life, Larry Blankenship, in 2002 and they were married on February 14, 2006 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They moved to Moody, Texas in 2012. Kelli loved her husband, her family, her friends, her dog, Sadie, and all creatures. She loved Red Lobster and she loved to dance. Anyone who knew Kelli knew all about her. She had a kind, loving, and gentle spirit and was always busy and on the go. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Kelli was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marnell.
Survivors include husband, Larry Blankenship and son, David Boyd.
