Karen Kay “K.K.” McDonald of Speegleville passed away Friday morning January 10, 2014, at the age of 59. A memorial Celebration will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Top Hand Cowboy Church in Valley Mills with Rev. Greg Moore officiating, under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor.
Mrs. McDonald was born April 5, 1954, in Lawton, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late James Baber and Edith Inez (Stephens) Hames. As a child, she moved to Waco and received her education at La Vega High School. In 1988, she moved to Speegleville from Waco. On August 25, 1990, she married Billy Wade McDonald in McGregor.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed horseback riding, fishing on their houseboat, and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of Top Hand Cowboy Church in Valley Mills.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Dawn Hames.
Survivors include her husband, Billy McDonald; a daughter, Kami Sudduth and husband Chip of Hewitt; four grandchildren, Anthony Morris, Jacob Morris, Brittany Stevenson, Gary Don Rodriguez; three great grandchildren, Talan Perkins, Trevor Philippi and Kaycen Morris.
For those desiring, the family has suggested The Huntington’s Foundation Department of Medical Genetics, Indiana University Medical Center, 410 West Tenth Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202-3002, for memorial contributions.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to the nurses of St. Catherine’s Hospice for their excellent care of Karen.
