Alice Pinegar of Moody died Sunday morning, May 8, 2011, at the age of 93. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at First Baptist Church 300 Avenue E, Moody, Texas with Dr. Tom Shelton and Reverend Mickey Fugitt officiating. Interment will follow in Moody Cemetery under the direction of Cole Chapel, 304 Eighth Street, Moody. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Cole Chapel.
Alice was born January 28, 1918, in West, Texas the daughter of the late Walter Webster and Bertha Lizzie (Pochyla) Mayo. On September 26, 1942, she married William Mason (Bill) Pinegar in Waco, Texas. After fifty wonderful years of marriage he preceded her in death October 5, 1992.
Alice was a beautician who took her talents to heart for her customers and herself in the many towns in which she lived as she followed Bill as he traveled where H. B. Zachary Construction Company sent him. In 1968 they bought acreage outside of Moody where they remained until their deaths.
Alice was a true believer who embraced Jesus Christ as her savior and expressed her faith by supporting Baptist Churches where ever she lived. When Bill and Alice settled in Moody, they became faithful members of First Baptist Church and served where ever they were needed. She was a member of the McGregor Garden Club and the Red Hat Societies in McGregor and Moody.
Throughout her life, Alice enjoyed oil and water color painting, gardening and arranging fresh and artificial flowers into beautiful arrangements. It has been said that Alice was the Eternal helper who saw good in all things. No one in need was ever turned away.
Also preceding her in death were her brothers and sister.
Survivors include her son, Walt Pinegar and wife Phyllis.
