William Arthur Rutherford

William Arthur Rutherford, age 98, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023. He was born in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee to the late William and Sophie Rutherford. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Helen Rutherford and his six younger siblings.

Mr. Rutherford is survived by his two children Melody (Scott) Davis and Greg (Cindi) Rutherford; his six grandchildren Hailey, Jacob, Allie, Whitney, Adam, and Morgan; and ten great grandchildren as well as several other beloved family members.

William was a member of the United States Army and served during World War II. After his time in the military he became a trucker and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He proudly worked his whole life, all the way up to the age of 94. He was a hardworking man and he was a loving man who loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Haisten Funeral Home, 1745 Zack Hinton Pkwy S. McDonough, Georgia 30253. A graveside service for William will follow Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, Georgia 30253.
