Sherry Lynn Mayo, age 67, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022. She was born August 20, 1955 in Jackson, Georgia to the late Willie Hugh and Evelyn Vaughn Barnes. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ellis Mayo, Jr.; two sisters, Carol Parris and Sandra Thurston and by two step daughters, Karen McEver and Kim Grider. Sherry retired after 20 years as a paraprofessional for Ola Elementary. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending ballgames and taking trips to the beach. Survivors include her children, Tamie (Donald) Stiles and Dallas (Jessica) Mayo all of McDonough; grandchildren, Danielle (Taylor) Murphy, Haley Grider, Jordyn Stiles, Ryley Stiles, Seth Evans, Lilly Mayo, Kathryn Mayo, Caroline Mayo, Katie Mayo, and Levi Mayo; great grandson, Rowland Murphy; brother, Bill (Linda) Barnes of Jackson; sister, Debbie Lunsford of McDonough. A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
