Scott Eugene Evans, age 48, of McDonough, Ga. passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022. This date also marks the joyous celebration as Scott was reunited in Heaven with his maternal grandparents Burlin Ray & Nelda Kidd Delaney, paternal grandparents James Carlton Evans & Betty Elizabeth Johnson Evans, his uncles Robert and Donald Delaney, aunt Patricia (Evans) Lewis as well as his cousins Donald Delaney, Jr., Robbie Delaney and Larry Reeves
Scott was a born-again husband, father, son and brother. He was a talented guitar player, sometimes entertaining his family and friends with hilarious (and sometimes really bad) country songs he had written.
He was a crazy cat person, dog & cat rescuer, vintage toy collector, chef & griller, ice cream & cake-pop maker, cupcake & cookie baker with Leah, and a very patient cartoon watcher and toy creator with Daniel.
One of Scott’s favorite things to do was cook for himself and others. He enjoyed eating really good food and would gather together ingredients to do copycat recipes from his favorite restaurants. He also enjoyed having a good cup of coffee, especially when having dessert.
He was mischievous and a prankster (you could see it in his eyes), and he had a knack of saying something shocking just to get a reaction. From childhood, he always liked a good joke (and a prank if he could get away with it). He loved to just sit and talk, laugh and make others laugh. He had an amazing ability to soak in knowledge. He was serious about the things of life, but he never took life too seriously. He was a huge fan of the Atlanta Thrashers hockey team and attended as many games as possible until their final season. He was a hard worker – rarely missing a day in 25 years.
Scott will be remembered as so much more than words can convey, those memories and his legacy will live on through his wife Sirley Robles Evans and his children Leah & Daniel Evans.
Scott is also survived by parents Gene & Nancy Delaney Evans, his brother Kenneth (Ambra) Evans, aunt Nancy (Ken) Sato, uncle Perry Evans and cousins Brandi Reeves (Mike) Holmes, Cameron (Nia) Reeves, Molly (William) Durham, Clay Lewis, Rae Delaney, Brian Delaney, Jeremy Delaney, Roger Delaney and Ronnie Delaney.
Scott will be missed more than words can describe, but his family and friends can be assured that by the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ they will see him again:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
