Melba Lott Craig, age 84 passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024. She was born on February 4, 1940, in Newnan, GA to the late Martin Thomas Lott and Helen Elmagene Folds. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Larry Craig and her brothers Wendell Lott and Kenneth Lott.
Ms. Craig is survived by her daughters Jeanette Easley and Tammy Irion; grandson Matt (Laura) Berry; great-grandson Lucas Berry; siblings Anthony Malone, Ricky Malone, Linda Humphrey, and Deborah Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Melba was a member of Turner Methodist Church for 59 years where she loved to sing in the choir, teach Sunday school, and participate in Bible study. She served on their administrative board and homecoming committee. She worked for the state of GA for 34 years before retiring in 1996 as a Purchasing Agent. She loved to travel whether it was cruising to far-off places like Alaska and Aruba with her family and friends or taking road trips to see the beautiful country with visits to the Amish country in PA, Mt. Rushmore, and Devil's Tower or by plane to locations such as Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, and Niagara Falls. If an adventure was on the table, she was all in.
The Family would like to thank Brasstown Manor in Hiawassee for the love and care given to Melba these past few years as well as everyone for their prayers and support during this most difficult time.
