Mary Elizabeth Riggins

was born on March 18, 1930 to the late Oscar and Ethel Holtzclaw.

Mary retired from Southern States in Hampton, Georgia. She was a member of Hampton First Baptist Church and she loved her church family. In her free time she loved to go camping, fishing, and watching the Atlanta Braves. She also enjoyed shopping and spending time at the Hampton Senior Center. Mary loved her family very much. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Wiley Riggins, and her siblings, Thelon, Willi Lee, Maggie, Doris, and Oscar Jr.

Mary is survived by her sisters, Jeanette Sutton and Vivian Griffin (Dwight), her children, Bonnie Fourakre (Adrian), Don White, Kathie Jester (Richard), three grandchildren, Paige Patterson (Gene), Ashlie Roca (Milton), and Andrea Smith (Kevin), and 8 great grandchildren.

We want to thank Lori Grogan and all the nurses and staff at Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin for all the support, love, and kindness they showed towards Mary and her family over the past few months.

A visitation of family and friends will be held for Mary at Hampton First Baptist Church, 85 McDonough Street, Hampton, GA 30228, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with the funeral to follow at 12:00pm.
